Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) Applications

PRP has found a wide range of use in many fields of medicine in the recent years.

Basically PRP is the injection of platelet (a type of cell in the blood) rich fraction of the patient’s own blood. It is particularly used in patients with low-quality unhealthy and matte skin and for micro-wrinkles around mouth, forehead and lips.

In addition, PRP is also used for hair loss patients. Repetitive PRP injections have shown to increase the quality of the remaining (or transplanted) hair, increase the thickness of the hair follicles and decrease the rate of hair loss.

For the PRP to exert its full effects, it should be combined with a “needling” procedure. We prefer the sterile micro-injections with dermaroll or “fractional radiofrequency microneedling” as a combination with the facial PRP injections.
