Chin-Shaping Procedures in Istanbul
The chin frames the lower face. A chin that sits slightly back makes the nose look larger and blurs the border between the face and the neck — which is why the chin and the profile are assessed together rather than one at a time.
Three procedures cover almost everything asked for in this region:

Chin augmentation with fillers
Where the chin is only mildly weak, a high-viscosity filler placed at the chin point is usually enough to restore the projection that is missing. It is an office procedure, the change is visible the same day, and because it is not permanent it also lets you see the effect of more projection before deciding on anything further.
Chin implants
When the loss of bony projection is significant, a filler can no longer compensate for it, and an implant is what restores the projection. The implants used are made of porous high-density polyethylene, the material widely known under the trade name Medpor®.
The choice of material is deliberate. Porous polyethylene is biocompatible, and its open pore structure allows the surrounding tissue and the underlying bone to grow into the implant, so that over time it becomes integrated with the chin rather than simply resting against it. Solid silicone implants sit on the bone surface, and thinning of the bone beneath them is a well-documented long-term finding in the surgical literature. That difference is the reason for the preference.
Chin implants can be placed either through an incision inside the mouth or through an incision under the chin. Both routes are established and both are used; which one suits you depends on your anatomy and on the implant planned, and it is decided together with you at consultation rather than fixed in advance.
The same two routes apply where the chin projects too far forward and the prominence needs to be reduced by shaving the bone.
Correction of the double chin
Fullness under the chin is treated with ultrasound-assisted liposuction — the technique carried out with the VASER® system — through a single entry point of about two millimetres beneath the chin. The technique is deliberately conservative, and in this area it is very effective: it removes a significant amount of the fat under the chin, and the ultrasound energy produces a mild to moderate tightening of the skin above it. Together these are what re-establish the line between the chin and the neck.
These three procedures are frequently combined, and they are often planned alongside rhinoplasty, since the nose and the chin together decide the profile.

Once you have sent an enquiry to us, you will be contacted by one of our representatives. Your representative will provide information about the procedure that you are interested in and answer any questions you may have. After Doctor’s online evaluation, he will give his advises and make an initial operation plan if the patient is suitable both physically and psychologically. And the representative will inform you about the plan, details of the operation, healing, etc. You will also be provided with details on the available dates, required accommodation duration, packages & costs, and possible extras. Once you set a date with your representative we book your appointment after you send the flight details and passport information.
For our international patients we are offering packages including hotel and transfers between airport-hotel-clinic. We accommodate our patients near hotels to our hospital to reach them easily and to avoid spending time in traffic. We currently have a 4-star and a 5-star hotel options. As we have agency collaborations with the hotels, we usually provide better quotes for our patients than the hotel does. You can get detailed information from your representatives about hotels and prices.
The patients who will arrange their own accommodation and transportation, should inform their representatives about their accommodate addresses before they arrive Istanbul. We strongly recommend those patients to arrange close accommodates to our hospital. Please note, Istanbul is bigger than you see on the map. So, please consult to your representative before arrange/book your accommodation.
We strongly recommend bringing a companion, and even make it obligatory for some operations. If you cannot bring a companion, a private-duty nurse can assist you with basic needs during the daytime of your hospital stay — please tell your patient representative in advance so it can be arranged. - Blood transfusion. In some combining body contouring procedures patient might need blood transfusion for faster mobilizing and for keeping hemogram value in appropriate levels.
- Our package covers one pieces of all needed types of compressive garments. Additional compressive garments are for extra fee.

Not always — but the assessment should always include it. When a recessed chin exaggerates the nose, balancing both (often in one session) gives a dramatically more harmonious profile than either alone.
